Dr Liliya Korallo is a CBT/DBT therapist based in London. Dr Liliya Korallo has a Doctorate in Psychology from Middlesex University and an MSc in Culture and Mental Health from University College London. 


She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from New Buckinghamshire University. She is multilingual, speaking English, Russian and Ukrainian.


She is the only Russian speaking psychologist in London Liverpool Street, City, Central London.

Dr Korallo has extensive experience of working with borderline personality disorder (BPD) which is her speciality. She previously worked in a private hospital in north London (The Priory) for four years, where she ran a DBT group as well as a Compassionate Focus group.


She also ran Cognitive Behavioural Therapy groups, and assisted a DBT team working with children. Dr Korallo also worked with individual patients with a range of presentations, including depression, anxiety, phobias and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

At present she works in the NHS, with the IMPART team, specialising in helping clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) to teach them skills to regulate their emotions more effectively, improve their interpersonal effectiveness and build "a life worth living".



My approach

I have successfully treated patients with a variety of presentations, including anxiety-related disorders including panic attacks, phobias, OCD, PTSD, GAD, health anxiety and social anxiety, also depression, addictions, eating disorders and behavioural issues, sleeping disorders, couple issues, low self esteem, assertiveness, stress related issues, anger management and many others.


My main approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which is evidence-based and effective with most disorders. I also integrate elements of Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.


I can offer a non-judgmental compassionate approach to resolve your problem. I am here not to judge or criticise you; I will be understanding and supportive. Following my therapy, you will become more aware of what maintains your problem and how your way of thinking affects the way you feel and behave.


You will then be equipped with coping strategies/problem solving skills that help you to cope with difficult situations and stressors, and identify any up-coming problem. Sometimes therapy can be demanding and uncomfortable, but we will overcome obstacles together in a collaborative way and in a relaxed, positive atmosphere.


The unique approach of my therapy is to work with the thinking that maintains your problem; once this pattern has been successfully challenged, you will discover that you feel differently about yourself.


Unlike many other therapists, I try to work with causes and symptoms at the same time. Many of my previous clients have benefited from this unique approach.
